Hello, folks, and welcome back to anther school year!
To start off your new term, we SPJ officers have some exciting news:
Currently, our Treasurer position is open for applicants who are interested in being a part of our SPJ family!
The treasurer position is pretty simple and doesn’t really require a whole lot other than being a trust-worthy and responsible individual as you would be handling the student chapter’s bank account. The only real requirements are:
- Be a registered SPJ member
- Attend weekly meetings
As holder of the card to our SPJ UW bank account, you would be responsible for:
- Buying items we would need for events (and retrieving them, but usually another member will help you grab everything).
- Receive and keep monthly bank statements so we can submit them to the national SPJ board at the end of the academic year.
Applying is simple:
–Prepare a two-three minutes speech about previous or current professional experiences, what you think qualifies you for this role. What goals you’d like to see SPJ achieve this year and why.
Votes will be cast by all those in attendance who are already registered members of the SPJ national board. Election date is on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. room 321 at the Communications Building.
